Welcome to the blog of Henry and Krystal! It was the perfect day for the perfect wedding. The Dream More Resort in beautiful Pigeon Forge, TN made for the ideal wedding, especially for such awesome people!
Why do I love being a wedding photographer? The best answer I can give is because of people like Henry and Krystal! I love to hear stories of the couples and how they overcome obstacles to make it work. I love to play a small part in documenting their lives for that special day. Love is a very peculiar thing that comes, sometimes at the most difficult and unlikely times, and sometimes in the most unexpected ways.
On their wedding day was the first time I had met either Henry or Krystal. Often when I arrive at a couples wedding, I walk into a whirlwind of chaos. This one was no different. The bridal party was scrambling to do hair and makeup. Someone is always trying to wrangle children. Stress always seems to build when trying to stick to a timeline, yet Krystal was able to keep so calm through it all….. At least I think so!
That morning, Henry and Krystal were two separate families of four. Just hours away from becoming a large family of 8, I noticed something. I noticed on one of the biggest days of their lives the kids were still top priority. Both Henry and Krystal put everything on hold when their children needed them. Two separate people, each having three kids of their own, showed their children that even on such a big day, they were more important. That is something that you do not see every day, but I think it will help me be a better father to my own children.
Good days will come and go and life changing events will come and go, but family is forever. I will forever remember this wedding, if for nothing else, for such love that was expressed. The love that Henry and Krystal showed didn’t just stop at the kids, it was evident in each other. Later in the day, such love would be understood better when I seen the foundation. As a believer and follower of Jesus Christ, I rejoice in seeing a home rooted and grounded on biblical principles. Undoubtedly this couple loves the Lord and are raising their children in the love and admonition of Him.
What I haven’t mentioned yet is what Henry does for a career! As a guy, I remember being a boy and talking with my friends about video games. We would talk about things we loved and hated. We also used our imaginations and created our own games. Henry made some of my childhood dreams his reality. He is a video game developer and your child’s super hero, and they don’t even know it! Ever heard of Mine Craft? If you have small children then…… of course you have!!! Henry is one of the developers! And to make things even better, Krystal is a gamer too! I wonder who is better? lol.
So, since this was a gamer couples wedding, of course it would have to be incorporated. There I was, kneeling down in the aisle. With cameras ready I anticipate the wedding procession to begin, when suddenly I hear sounds that spark excitement. The Mario Brothers theme song plays across the sound system (DUH NUH NUH DANUH NUH NUH), and here comes Henry! It was awesome! The ceremony was awesome, and it was such an honor to witness this union.
Just another thing to add to this list of awesomeness was the freedom they gave me to do my thing. Wedding day photography goes so much better when the couple trusts me and my ability. They hired me for their big day, assured me in their confidence in me, and were willing to participate in my wacky visions! lol. I am not sure about you, but I think we nailed it! I love to use creative lighting at some point in the wedding day and while At Dolly’s Resort, you pay tribute to Dolly. At the end of a very long a stressful day, Henry and Krystal allowed me one last opportunity to create something awesome. I can’t take all the credit though I had some pretty awesome help from Kristin, Krystal’s best friend and Maid of Honor!
All in all this was an awesome wedding! Thank you so much for allowing me to be a small part of your big day!

I wasn’t able to attend the wedding, so I’m thrilled to read the above account and see the fabulous pictures. I love Krystal so much and hope to meet Henry before too long. I wish them many healthy and happy years together. God bless and keep them and the children.
